Our First Month Back at ISBe

Our first month back at ISBe has been nothing but eventful! From football tryouts, to student council elections, to a chess tournament.

I’m sure all the students (like me) are happy to be on campus and are enjoying everything to its fullest (except maybe the masks). But everything is not the same, you all obviously know about this small thing called corona and that is basically the reason for everything:

Student: ” why do we have to wear masks to school everyday”
Teacher: ”because of corona”

Student:” why can’t we meet anyone outside of our class bubble?”
Teacher:” because of corona”

Student: “why do we have so much homework?” (hint hint)
Teacher: ” because of corona”
(not really but you get what I mean)

Anyways, apart from freaking out when someone sneezes or coughs we have all our old lessons and we are pretty much back to our old routines, just with masks (ugh) . There are a few challenges like music and drama where it’s hard to do stuff with a mask on.

Here are some pictures of a normal day at ISBe:

We have places in the bus 🙁 but the teachers showed us some mercy and gave us places with our friends. We have to have our mask on at all times in the bus along with our seatbelt (obviously).

Then our lessons start. Each class has a room so we all stay in our bubble. There are a few lessons with exceptions like Music, Art, Science and Drama, but otherwise each class has their own room.

Here are few pictures from class 8 during drama:
Let me tell you a bit about our project in drama. We are writing and producing our own plays (in groups). It’s a fun time writing a script and choosing the characters for each person!

There is always something going on at ISBe and this month it was the chess competition. Here are a few pictures of that:

So while we get foggy glasses and can’t articulate most of the time, being back at school is definitely better than being at home. Who knew I’d ever be saying that…
