Hello from ISBe Parent Association!

(From left to right)

I am Rachael Desztich Sandler and we moved to Belgium earlier this year from Los Angeles, California.  At work I am a Creative Director and entrepreneur. At home I love to run, bake and read. This is my first year in the PA and I look forward to a great year ahead!

I am Megha Rathod-Bhandari and I am the President of the PA for the year 2021-2022. I totally love being a part of the PA as it helps me be a step closer to my daughter’s education as I believe the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents. Also connecting home and school makes us a great community of learners and through PA I can achieve that.

I am Malarkodi, Secretary of the PA and I am very excited to be part of this crew again. As a family we are looking forward to having a wonderful year ahead. A very warm welcome to all the new parents and the main objective of our PA is to aid Parents and Teachers aiming to raise our kids and strengthen our school community.

Let’s Celebrate and enjoy the school community through Events and Educational activities….
Let’s Create an Emotional investment…
Let’s Communicate our kids that we have Wonderful teachers and Supportive parents…
See you all!

I’m Bronwen Martin. Our family has been part of the ISBe school community for almost 6 years. I’ve lived in the UK, US and Belgium. I’m a scientist and I work for the University of Antwerp. I love everything to do with science and I’m known for discovering that the tongue produces very specific chemicals (hormones) that carefully fine-tune how we taste different flavors (e.g. the sweetness of honey, or the sourness of a lime). I connect University of Antwerp scientists with the ISBe science teachers and students, so that ISBe students can do projects in the university labs and join in with science outreach initiatives. I’m also helping out with the ISBe “Green Garden Project”, where we’re hoping to transform a part of the ISBe playground into a green oasis, with a veggie garden and adventurous nature-based play area. We’ll do this together with parents, students, teachers and the Flemish Government. So, parents…..we’ll need your help to accomplish this!

I’m excited to be part of the PA and I look forward to helping out with making this a fun and enriching school year, for the students, parents and ISBe staff! We could do with more helping hands, so feel free to join us for meetings or let us know if you’d like to help out in any way.

I’m Asmita Pokharkar and I am happy to be part of the PA this year.
