The Primary Section Stories – 12/05/2023

Dear Parents,

This is one of those awkward terms with lots of public holidays, but the vital school work still continues with our teachers making every effort to provide the lessons our students need in an interesting and engaging way. Our students are lucky to have such a highly qualified, dedicated and hardworking teaching team.

As our students get older they reach the point where it is time for them to move on into the  Secondary section of the school. There are quite a few changes for the students to take on board so we like to make sure they are well prepared and that the parents are well informed as well. Last week we held our online transition meeting for parents. The theme of this was ‘the teenage brain’. Not only are the students changing their location but they themselves are changing too. Ms Relf our head of secondary led the meeting and explained some of the aspects of development that parents can expect from their soon to be secondary students and some tips on how to cope with them and help the students through it. It was a very interesting meeting. Thank you Ms Relf.

Last Friday was Class 1’s assembly and they shared with us all the things they have learnt about China, the country they chose for International day. They performed a marvellous dance, sang in Chinese, wore fantastic costumes and made a great impression. I am so glad they will get to share it all again with the whole school community on International Day. Well done Ms Saachi and Class 1.

This week the photos were delivered from the photographer and there was another vaccination session.

Tomorrow is international Day at the school from 1pm to 4pm. The students have prepared lots of interesting things for you to see, read and try. We also have some surprise guests and performers. It is a fundraising event so please bring plenty of cash to purchase the event stall tickets. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the stalls and activities. We look forward to seeing everybody there for a wonderful time.

Have a great weekend.
