Secondary Newsletter- 12/9/2025
To our valued parents and ISBe community members,
The school year is now well underway, and it has been a joy to see how quickly our community has settled back into the rhythm of learning. Students who only recently joined us are already familiar faces in our classrooms and corridors, contributing with confidence, building friendships, and becoming active members of our community. This is a testament to the welcoming environment of our school and the support that surrounds every child.
Meet our new teachers – a short introduction below:

Teaching and learning have begun with great energy. Across the grades, students are diving into new topics, developing their skills, and challenging themselves to think both critically and creatively. Our classrooms are alive with inquiry, discussion, and collaboration, reflecting the spirit of curiosity that drives our school. Teachers are working closely with students to set meaningful goals, ensuring that everyone is both supported and stretched in their learning journey.
This week has also been an important one for student leadership. We held the elections for Student Council Represenattives from classes 6 to 9. We also conducted a number of interviews for House Captains, Vice Captains, and potential Student Council Presidents and Vice Presidents. Campaign posters and speeches have filled the school with enthusiasm, and it has been wonderful to see so many students step forward with confidence and commitment. We wish all candidates the very best of luck as elections approach.
Looking ahead, students from Grade 10 will be embarking on their Duke of Edinburgh Award qualifying expedition at the Bronze and Silver levels from Monday to Wednesday, accompanied by some Grade 11 students. They are excited to take on this challenge, and we are very much looking forward to hearing about their experiences when they return.
I would also like to take this opportunity to invite all Class Parents to a meeting on Thursday, 19th September, at 6:00 p.m. The Zoom link has been sent to your email inboxes, and I look forward to seeing you there.
Finally, we are delighted to welcome Mr. John Black, our new Head of School, who will be joining us on Monday. In the coming weeks, he will be arranging opportunities to meet with parents, and I know he is very much looking forward to connecting with you all.
As the year continues, we look forward to building on this strong start, celebrating achievements, and continuing to nurture a culture of learning, respect, and leadership.
Warm regards,
Tala Issa
