Primary Newsletter 06/03/2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
With the arrival of better weather, we’re excited to introduce a small change to our early morning routine starting Monday. Any Primary student who arrives before 8:30 a.m.—whether dropped off by parents or arriving by bus or taxi—will go to the lunchroom. During this time, students will have the opportunity to play and socialize, either indoors or outside, before the school day begins. At 8:30 a.m., all students will head to their classrooms together, helping everyone start the day in a calm and organized way. A duty teacher will be present to supervise, support students, and ensure that everyone moves to their classrooms at the appropriate time. This adjustment allows students to enjoy the pleasant weather, spend time with friends before class, and begin the day feeling settled and ready to learn.
The Computer Science Olympiad results are in and parents concerned will be notified of the results individually soon. However, we had a very good outcome with a student at Rank 1 internationally and several others with very high scores.
Class 2 performed a wonderful assembly last week. It was made up of three plays about the three periods when dinosaurs roamed the earth – Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. The students researched their own dinosaur, created their own script and with the support of their parents created their own dinosaur costume. The students gave an impressive performance, really acting out their dinosaur character and sharing lots of information about the different eras and the dinosaurs themselves. They finished the assembly with the dinosaur stomp and invited the whole audience to participate. Thank you to the staff who helped the children and all those parents who contributed to their child’s costume.
Today’s assembly was about International mindedness, a key component to our curriculum here. We discussed our primary definition and what it means. Tolerance of others is a big component of this.

Dragon House organised an event last week for selected Primary students to take part in. It was ‘Tug of War’. Many of our students had not heard of this before and so it was a great chance to learn about this traditional activity and to cheer as hard as they could for their house. Thank you to the student organisers and the house committee.

Primary Student Voice organised their second Fluffy Friday on the 27th February. As usual hot chocolate and snacks were served but also the students were able to try Tai Chi, build dream catchers as well as sit on the cushions and hide under the blanket for reading by torchlight. Everyone had a lovely time but we must say a big thank you to the Primary Student Voice representatives who ran the activities and took care of the cleaning up afterwards. A big thank you too to Mrs Konnur who helped with the activity and of course our teachers who always support whatever is going on.

Yesterday Class 2 also took a trip to Chocolate Nation as the entry point for their new unit Chocolate. I think they all enjoyed the trip.

Next week is our STEAMfest, be sure to ask your children all about what is happening in school.
Have a lovely weekend and a great week ahead.
Warm regards,
